Yesterday, I spent a wonderful day at the 2024 Strasbourg Wine Fair with Really Grape and Wine with Hannah!
Maria (Really Grape) set us up with Hannah, who took us on a private tour through bustling aisles full of delicious French wine! I adore both of them, and it was terrific to have a professional wine expert personally guide us through the hundreds of options on site.
I tried so many delectable wines and learned so much.
I would have been lost without them! 💯
Official Website:
There are other wine fairs that happen all in other areas, such as Bordeaux and Lyon.
Entrance Cost:
Should be less than 10 euros (hard to find official information).
2024 Strasbourg Dates:
February 16th-19th (1 day left!)
Address Parc des Expositions de Strasbourg:
I parked at the Parking Relais - Rives-de-l'Aar. A parking garage that was about a 10-minute walk from the Parc des Expositions de Strasbourg, where the Wine Fair was being held. 🅿️
I highly suggest arriving as early as possible (around opening). We arrived at 10:45 am, and the parking garage was almost full. There is a closer parking garage, but I read through some of the negative reviews and opted to park a little bit further out to avoid any complications. We parked from 10:30 am to around 4:00 pm and it was under 5 euros!
This is where we entered.
There were a couple of bus tours with companies like RTT who brought people from different stops in the KMC area. 🚌
I didn't have any trouble driving in or out from where my parking garage was located, but some said the traffic was bad later in the day closer to the fair. 🚗
This is where you check in and either purchase your ticket or scan (if you have a pre-purchased code).
We met our guides at 11:00 am and proceeded to try all the wines! 😍
There was row after row of wines all color-coded based on region.
In the future, I would recommend skipping Saturday if possible. It was extremely crowded, especially as the day wore on. People were pushy at times, and the constant trolleys of wine boxes coming in and out were a bit much. 😰
Lots of people brought these to cart their purchases around (and other types). 🛍️
Hannah effortlessly navigated us around and even conversed with many of the vendors on our behalf! She speaks fluent French! C'était Parfait!
We were able to try any and all of the wines that we desired. 😍
Heaven on earth!
These are some of what we came across during our tour. 🍷
Note: I think from now on, I'm going to taste and spit out the red wines. I can't go around mixing white wines and reds for hours anymore and not expect a terrible headache or upset stomach!
We had a good chuckle about the bottle on the left. 😆
There were several food vendors on site (and they all took card). I purchased a ham and cheese baguette, and others tried different kinds of French sandwiches! I even saw a cheese stand towards the back. 🧀🥖
Nothing too fancy though. Simple fair.
Everything was also very reasonably priced as well. 👌
This chocolate stand looked rather scrum-didly-umptious! 🍫
This is what the signs looked like at the different stands. Each aisle was organized via color, number, and letter.
Eventually we got tired of all the wine and decided to do a quick walk to a coffee shop nearby, before heading home. 🚶
We walked through a small fun little park called "Parc du Château." 🌳
It was a cute park with a small playground and places to sit.
Our destination being a cute little eclectic coffee shop called Madame Café. I personally loved the croque monsieur (sandwich), bean soup, Viennois coffee and chocolate pastry! ☕
It was the perfect casual end to a fun little adventure. ❤️
À votre santé! 🥂
One other recommendation is to do the 30-minute walk into the city center. The main feature of course being the beautiful Cathédrale Notre-Dame-de-Strasbourg. ⛪
You could even plan ahead and book a boat tour! 🛥️
Whatever you decide, I highly recommend you set aside the time to explore this charming city. Maybe even make the Wine Fair a weekend affair. Find a nice place to stay in the city, and leisurely explore everything the city has to offer. 🇫🇷
